Preparing for your hair and makeup trial
I came across an article on Wedding Magazine’s facebook page recently, all about how to prepare for your bridal hair and makeup trial, so i thought I’d pass on the tips and tricks to future brides to ensure that you and your artist achieve the very best look for your big day.
Exfoliate! Cleanse! and Moisturize! The up-most important tip that I can give you is to prep your skin. Skin which is not exfoliated will always make makeup appear heavier and emphasize fine lines (and wrinkles!) And always exfoliate as step one, there is no point cleansing the dead skin cells and then exfoliating them off!
Mood boards! Creating a mood board, not only for hair and makeup ideas but also for colour themes, flowers, decor, venues etc, will help to give your artist an insight into your vision for your whole day ensuring the look in which you are creating will fit seamlessly. Pinterest is amazing (for wedding and life in general!) or, if you are anything like me, and a complete tech-novice, the simple magazine cut outs work perfectly: and may provide a lovely keep sake for your memories.
Clothing! Try and plan what to wear for your trial. Of course you won’t be able to replicate the beautiful colour and material of your wedding dress but try and choose something plain and pattern free: something which won’t influence the makeup.
And finally to round off, drink plenty of water and get a few extra hours of sleep! I know it can sound like a bit of a broken record but you’ll thank me when you are flawless on your big day x
